Happy Easter

April 15th, 2006

Hi all, just a note to wish everyone a Happy Easter.  I have had Easter bunny and chick overload at school with the Year 1s in Gateshead but no one can have too many Easter Eggs aye! Enjoy the hols.  I am glad to be back home in Yorkshire :) Bye for now, Caris xx

That back to school feeling!

March 18th, 2006

Hi, well its my last weekend of freedom before I am back to school, teaching lessons - scary scary.  I am in with the little ones as of Monday at a school in Gateshead.  I am feeling a little out of practice but I am sure it will all come back once I get back in the classroom.  Still trying to get my essay done - it is becoming a real battle and I am not enjoying it at all.  Ah well I will just have to try and get my head down and get on with it.  I have the F1 to look forward to this afternoon which will be good - I am hoping Jensen will have a good one.  Oh off to see some jazz tonight - very cultured.  Dee Dee Bridgewater is playing at the Sage - should be fun.

Must dash,

Cxx

Go Jenson!

March 11th, 2006

Hi all, well it has come back round to that time of the year and yes the first F1 race of the season!  I have just been watching the qualifying from Bahrain and it was pretty exciting.  I was somewhat worried by the ‘burning off’ of the fuel in the last 20 min session - it seems a little environmentally unfriendly to me!  Ah well I guess F1 was never a green sport. Just wishing Jenson a good result  - I think a win is well over due!! Have a good weekend, Cxx

Back to school soon!

February 28th, 2006

Hi all, well I am back in the NE after a short break iin Yorkshire.  It was really nice to catch up with my mates and see my family.  I amback to uni now though, we had a day of geography today which was ok, it was all about Barnaby Bear’s visit to Tynemouth!  Not much to report really, I am trying to crack on with my assignment and then its back to school on the 20th - scary stuff!!  Roll on the summer holidays is what I say!

Take care, Cx

Holidays!

February 19th, 2006

Hi, well its half term here and essay time - fun fun! Not much to report from the sunny heights of Newcastle. I am heading back to the homeland this week which will be nice - it is always good to get back to Yorkshire! I’ve been enjoying the winter Olympics this week - the skiing has been fab and bob runs. Anyway I had best get my books opened and some work done! Adios amigos. Cx

St. Valentine - who?

February 13th, 2006

Hi all, just a short post to wish you all lots of love on the soppiest, silliest day of the year! I think my postman will be worried here, he will be breaking his back carrying all my cards tomorrow - I don’t think! Here are a couple of Valentines facts for you ….
1) 192 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged annually, making Valentine’s Day the second-most popular greeting-card-giving occasion. (This total excludes packaged kids valentines for classroom exchanges.) (Source: from the web so who knows how reliable this info is!)
2) In Greek mythology cupid is know as Aphordite’s son Eros.
Things are busy as usual here in the NE - I have a nice assignment to do and building up to next school placement. Had a fun day of art today though - painting and drawing - quality! Off on a history fieldtrip tomorrow - the fun never ceases!
Have a good one,
Cxx

The falcons won :)

November 29th, 2005

.. by 17-15, it was a wicked game. Roll on the next one.

Hi

November 28th, 2005

Just a note to say the rugby was fab yesterday despite Jonny not playing. The Falcons won 17-15 against the Wasps and in the last 20 seconds - great atmosphere if not a little on the chilly side! Back to school today and the madness of Year 6 - the snow made some of the kids really excitable! Roll on the Christmas hols - I can’t wait to chill out. Off to make a curry now for me tea. Byeee C

Yo!

November 19th, 2005

Hi, seems like ages since I wrote an entry on my site. I have been a very busy bunny or is that bee?? I have survived three weeks at my school in Gateshead, another three to go and then its only a week until I go home for Christmas! Ah I am looking forward to getting back home and relaxing over the festive period. School has been going ok, I have been teaching my lessons (english, maths and science) and the kids have been ok bar a few rude boys! We have an Ofsted inspection next week which is not great - the teachers are all in a panic. I have my uni observation next week so I hope my lessons go well. Not much else to report in my life at the moment. I am hoping to move into a new student house as relations with our ‘boy’ housemates are not good. Hoping to view uni accommodaton next week. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Looking forward to seeing people an catching up when I am home. Take care, Cx PS Only 5 weeks til Christmas - arrgghh, I haven’t even thought about anything yet!

Hi

November 1st, 2005

Hello from the world of the school! Not much to report really except work work work! Things are going ok here - I taught my first bit of science today and it went ok but could have gone better. I had a couple of terrors being rude and causing trouble! Ah well I am teaching literay tomorrow so we will see how I get on there. Poems poems poems!
Sad news today - Best Mate the wonderful racehorse who won the Cheltenham GOld Cup 3 times died today at Exeter - very sad indeed.
Anyway,I must sign off and get some tea.

Half Term

October 24th, 2005

Hi, well thank goodness half term is here - no more lectures now until 2006! I am busy working on my maths assignment this week and preparing for my first full week in school next week. The main thing that is motivating me at the moment is going back to Yorkshire at the weekend :) Ah back to my homeland! Looking forward to catching up with everyone who is around. Not much news to report really. I am just plugging away with the work. Oh I did go to see the Carnival of the Animals Family concert at the Sage in Gateshead. I love that building - its the one that looks like an armadilo sitting on he bank of the Tyne. The show was fab - loads of kids but is was cool hearing Double Basses sounding like elephants and Pianos as Lions and all for £3! Well I had better get started on my work on this rainy Monday. Bye for now, Cx

Yo - in school!

October 19th, 2005

Hi, just a quick message from studentville! Had a reasonably good day at school today . I did my first bit of teaching on the old Interactive Whiteboard - I did multiplcation with a group in my class. It was a bit hectic but I think I managed to teach something to the kids. I then had to do a brainstorming session about dissolving with the whole class for 40 mins - scary or what . It actually turned out ok in the end but it was a bit last minute to sat the least! Just been for a swim tonight and off back to mission control to do some more work. Hope everyone is well. Byeee Cxx

Surfers NE style!

October 17th, 2005

Had a nice time at Tynemouth despite the cold weather! Here is my attempt to get some pictures on my site - fingers crossed. Cx

Hi

October 11th, 2005

Just a quick hello again as I am between lectures. We are doing a whole day of literacy planning today - oh the joys of teaching! It is quite a lot to take in but I am sure I will get there eventually. Things are ticking over fine up here in the NE. I had a good weekend - it went far too fast though. I am looking forward ot this weekend - apart from keeping on top of my work I am hoping to go and see some surfing in Tynemouth! Gotta dash. Cx
